MS Dhoni and Manish Pandey struck a 98 run partnership between each other to help India post a score of 188 on the board.
With the top 3 having a rare off day, the onus was on the Indian middle order to to take the team through.
Pandey and Dhoni did a terrific job of doing exactly that, pacing their innings to perfection, picking up the singles initially and the launching during the death.
Dhoni masterfully took the game to the last over and then teed off in typical fashion, hitting a brutal six off the back foot to show his critics that there still was a lot of cricket left in him.
While Dhoni seemed all calm and collected at the crease, a video of him has surfaced on social media, with Dhoni seemingly being very pissed at Pandey, asking him to look at Dhoni, rather than looking at the ball.
Dhoni was visibly flustered as he wanted Pandey to pay attention to what Dhoni was telling/signalling to him. Pandey would have been taken aback by such a reaction from Dhoni, who is generally very cool with how he conducts himself on the cricket field.

South Africa require 189 runs to level the T20 series up and with the ball coming on really well, they would be confident of their chances of chasing this total down, especially with no Bumrah in the Indian line up.
Bhuvi, Thakur, Unadkat, Chahal and Pandya will have to bowl out of their skins to keep the South Africans at bay on this flat Supersport track.
