WATCH: Jay Bista grabs sensational one-handed stunner to dismiss Baba Indrajith in Ranji Trophy

Jay Bista grabs sensational one-handed stunner: The Mumbai opening batsman was fielding at an innovative fielding position at Chepauk.

During the third day of the league match of the ongoing 86th season of the Ranji Trophy between Tamil Nadu and Mumbai in Chennai, Mumbai opening batsman Jay Bista grabbed a sensational one-handed stunner to dismiss Tamil Nadu batsman Baba Indrajith.

It all happened on the last delivery of the last delivery of the 83rd over when Indrajith played an expensive drive off Mumbai seamer Royston Dias. The angle from the left-arm bowler bowling over the wicket played a pivotal role in Indrajith edging it.

It is worth mentioning that Bista was fielding at an unconventional position of short third slip. Being in close proximity of the batsman, Bista was also seen wearing a helmet as a safety measure. With the ball racing past him, he put out his right to complete an excellent catch.

Coming in to bat at No. 5 in the 75th over, Indrajith ended up scoring 6 (29) with the help of one four. The 25-year old player was part of a middle-order collapse which saw the hosts losing five wickets for 17 runs.

Chasing Mumbai’s first-inning score of 488 runs, Tamil Nadu have lost seven wickets at tea on Day 3. It will require a massive effort from India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin to save the follow-on for Tamil Nadu.

After Mumbai captain Aditya Tare won the toss and chosen to bat, the 32-year old player’s ninth First-class century, 154 (253), with the help of 19 fours and two sixes propelled the visitors to 488 in 148.4 overs.
