Kohli takes a blinder

Kohli takes a blinder: The Indian captain was seen timing his jump to perfection to dismiss Peter Handscomb right after the tea break.

During the first day of the second Test of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia at Perth, India captain Virat Kohli timed his jump to perfection at second slip to grab a one-hand blinder to dismiss Australia middle-order batsman Peter Handscomb.

It all happened on the first ball of the 55th over when Handscomb played a false shot of an Ishant Sharma short delivery. With minimal width on the delivery, Handscomb’s attempt saw him edging the ball.

It was at this point in time that Kohli jumped to his utmost best, catching the ball with his right hand whilst in the air. Kohli might not have hit the celebration button after an excellent catch, but his effort meant a lot to the Indian team as they got the fourth Australian wicket right after the tea break.

After the Australian openers stitched a 112-run opening stand, the others who followed couldn’t failed to cash-in on the start. Having lost four wickets for 36 runs, the hosts found themselves in deep trouble.

With Shaun Marsh and Travis Head currently battling it out in the middle, Australia would be hoping for them to build a significant partnership. Having won the toss and electing to bat, Australia captain Tim Paine would be wanting his middle and lower batsmen to step up on the occasion.
