The Anthony Davis-Lakers saga has started to take shape in a more obvious manner, with both parties having made public statements about the other.

While LeBron has admitted that he would love to play alongside Davis, Davis has hinted that he might be opting for the Lakers over the Pelicans, as legacy matters to him more than money.

“I’d take legacy over money,” Davis said as quoted by Yahoo Sports

“I want to have a legacy. All my people that look up to me, the younger kids, I want them to know about AD’s legacy. Championships, the things I do in the community, being a good teammate, playing hard. All that stuff matters the most to me. Don’t get me wrong, money is amazing. But I think in that sense, money or legacy, I think my legacy will win that battle every time.” he added.

Now, according to a report from Yahoo Sports, the duo had dinner post the Lakers vs Pelicans game in LA, with LeBron apparently trying to pry Anthony Davis away from New Orleans.

LeBron James and the Lakers are desperately looking to form a good enough team to beat the Warriors for the NBA championship, and for that to happen, LeBron would need a superstar operating alongside him.

Davis has been identified as that superstar and the LA management along with LeBron are trying their utmost to secure Davis’ services.

LeBron is actually going out of his way to ensure that Davis understands what the entire project is all about and what would be his role in the system.

A video has surfaced on social media, one which shows LeBron hugging Davis after the game and telling him that ‘We’ll talk’.

The video has gone viral on social media as fans from the NBA fraternity feel that this where the dinner between the duo was planned, so as to discuss how Davis’ future with the Lakers could look like.

LeBron has been criticised by the Pelicans for trying to lure Anthony Davis with his statements to the Lakers. He is playing by the rules but is certainly trying his best to show Davis that the move could help both Davis and LeBron massively(and of course benefit the Lakers in the process).

Davis has a tough choice to make here, as he will in all probability have to play second fiddle to LeBron at the Lakers, a role that could be a little tough to adapt to initially.

Davis though will have the privilege of playing with his childhood idol and after LeBron’s retirement, he could become the face of the Lakers franchise.
