Liam Livingstone whacks 106m six: Perth Scorchers’ opening batsman was at it again from the word go in the second innings.

During the 51st match of the ongoing ninth season of the Big Bash League between Perth Scorchers and Adelaide Strikers in Perth, Perth Scorchers opening batsman Liam Livingstone extended his purple patch in the tournament by hitting a mountainous 106-metre six off Adelaide Strikers seamer Michael Neser.

It all happened on the fourth delivery of the second over when Livingstone broke the shackles by stepping out to Neser and hitting the right-arm bowler over long-on. The ball landing in the second tier spoke highly about the distance which it traveled.

Chasing a 182-run target, Scorchers have scored 44 runs in the powerplay at the expense of losing wicket-keeper batsman Josh Inglis.

With Livingstone and Kurtis Patterson batting in the middle, the hosts will be expecting for them to provide a solid foundation for the others to thrive upon later on.

After Strikers captain Travis Head won the toss and chose to bat, the visitors posted 181/5 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Having scored 59 (31) with the help of seven fours and two sixes, Adelaide opening batsman Phil Salt was their highest run-scorer. With bowling figures of 3-0-26-2, Perth pacer Matthew Kelly was the pick of their bowlers.
