Labuschagne's catch to dismiss Mohammad Hafeez

Labuschagne’s catch to dismiss Mohammad Hafeez: Rookie Australian cricketer grabbed a sharp catch at short-leg.

During the first day of the second Test of the ongoing Australia’s tour of UAE at Abu Dhabi, Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne’s attentiveness aided him to get hold of an abrupt catch to dismiss Pakistan’s opening batsman in Mohammad Hafeez.

Having won the toss, Pakistani captain Sarfraz Ahmed had elected to bat first. Pakistan ended up handing debuts to opening batsman Fakhar Zaman and left-arm pacer Mir Hamza.

On the other hand, Australia remained unchanged. The grass on the pitch yesterday had hinted at them playing three fast bowlers but that wasn’t the case today.

Mitchell Starc, who opened the bowling for the visitors, made early inroads into Pakistan’s batting line-up as he dismissed Hafeez in the third over. It happened on the last delivery of the third over after Hafeez’s flick landed straight into the legs of Labuschagne.

The ball hit several of his body parts before he got hold of it in his hands. The fact all of this happened in a jiffy and that the fielder was attentive enough throughout the process speaks highly of his involvement in the game. 24-year old Labuschagne had grabbed a fantastic catch in the first Test as well.

Hafeez, who scored a comeback hundred in the last Test, was dismissed for 4 (10) as Pakistan were hurt first up. In a bid to not give away this start, Australia would be looking forward to cause more breakthroughs.
