Watch MS Dhoni take a brilliant catch to dismiss Carlos Brathwaite against West Indies

Watch MS Dhoni take a brilliant catch to dismiss Carlos Brathwaite against West Indies in the World Cup match between India and West Indies.

MS Dhoni played a magnificent innings of 56 from 61 balls to help India post 268/7. The Indian Wicket Keeper though wasn’t done with his contribution to the team as he took a diving catch to off Bumrah to dismiss the dangerous Carlos Brathwaite.

Bumrah bowled a back of a length delivery that angled in before straightening. Braithwaite tried to close the face of his bat and push the ball to legside. However, the ball managed to catch the edge instead and flew to Dhoni’s right.

The wicketkeeper flew to his right and caught a beauty. The wicket column will show Jasprit Bumrah’s name, but this wicket solely belongs to the former Indian skipper.

Brathwaite took the world by storm in his last match against New Zealand. The swashbuckling allrounder single handedly took the Windies one shot away from victory. In the end, he holed out a catch while attempting another 6 as West Indies fell short by a mere 5 runs. However, Brathwaite gave a good account of what he is capable of and MS Dhoni’s striking catch has ensured that the all-rounder will not architect another heroic comeback in this match.

As good as Dhoni has been in front of the stumps in this match, he has been equally terrible behind it. Normally very clean with the gloves, he has conceded a plethora of byes today but when it mattered the most, he plucked a diving beauty for the ages.

Bumrah followed this up with another wicket as he caught Fabian Allen LBW first ball. Unfortunately Bumrah failed to grab a hat-trick as Kemar Roach managed to defend a slow yorker attempt.
