MS Dhoni unhappy with Dinesh Karthik's overthrow

MS Dhoni unhappy with Dinesh Karthik’s overthrow: In a viral video on Twitter, MS Dhoni seems to be unhappy with Dinesh Karthik’s throw.

During the fifth match of the Super Four stage of the ongoing Asia Cup between India and Afghanistan at Dubai, stand-in Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was seen in an unhappy mood after a throw from Dinesh Karthik resulted in overthrows.

It happened during the business end of the Afghani innings. On the fourth delivery of the 47th over, Mohammad Nabi hit a Siddarth Kaul yorker delivery towards the right of extra cover fielder.

Karthik, who was fielding at that position, hurried the throw back at the non-striker’s end. With the ball not hitting the stumps and Kaul not being able to stop the throw, the ball went straight to Ravindra Jadeja, who was backing up at deep mid-wicket.

However, the batsmen were successful enough to run an extra run in the meantime. Having watched this little chaos, Dhoni seemed to be at odds with the overall fielding effort. In his typical no-words-only-expressions demeanor, Dhoni signaled to his fielders to not throw the ball in a bid for a direct-hit.

Dhoni, who usually doesn’t show many expression in the middle, was his contrary self yesterday. Earlier, he had also scolded Kuldeep Yadav for not adhering to his field settings.

Against the expectations of majority of fans and cricket experts, the match ended up in a nerve-wrenching tie as India were all out on 252 on the penultimate delivery of the match. Afghanistan’s inspiring performance throughout the tournament earned them a plethora of approbations on Twitter. Read some of the tweets below:
