Prithvi Shaw loses his wicket after school boy error against MI

Prithvi Shaw was run-out by Hardik Pandya in the match between DD and MI as he committed a school boy error.

In a must-win game for MI, they are up against DD at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi. Mumbai need to win this match to ensure themselves a playoff berth.

Batting first, Delhi had got off to a good start. They were going at 10 an over after the 3 over mark. With 30 for naught, DD looked set for a good total.

The Delhi management had sent Glenn Maxwell to open the innings this season and it looked as if it would prove to be a master stroke. However, the partnership was broken when Mustafizur Rahman – making a comeback to the Mumbai side – came up to bowl in the 4th over.

On the very first ball of the over, Shaw pushed the ball towards point. He took a start to rush through for a quick single. However, Glenn Maxwell who was at the non striker’s end, called no as the ball went to Hardik Pandya at point.

Pandya picked up the ball and had a shy towards the wickets. Prithvi Shaw became absent minded for a moment and did not run quickly back to his crease. The ball hit the stumps as Shaw looked in disbelief.

As a result, the U-19 star had to depart to the pavilion. Shaw was dismissed for 12 off 8 balls. Soon after he got out, Glenn Maxwell too could not connect a searing delivery from Bumrah as he chopped it on his wickets.

It is now up to Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant to take DD to a good total.
