India’s interim skipper was sensational and unmatched during the 2nd ODI against Sri Lanka at the PCA Stadium, Mohali.
As usual, he started off the innings at a sedate pace and went about his business after gaining confidence from his favourite batting conditions.
After he amassed his 16th ODI century, he was completely a different batsman altogether. He smashed four consecutive whopping sixes that left the fans in awe.
Rohit Sharma was batting on 116 off 126 balls. During the 44th over, Rohit sensed a big opportunity to beef up the scorecard and his fireworks were nothing short of incredible.
He made full use of Suranga Lakmal’s bowling to good effect and scored 4 sixes off his over.
His score escalated quickly and read 140 runs off 131 balls. Then he toyed with the opposition with relative ease and absolutely put them on the back foot.
The game is quite fond of the phrase, convert the 1’s into 2’s but Hitman knows what it is like and what’s better than converting a century to a double delight.
