Watch: Sead Kolašinac staves off Knife wielding thieves to defend Arsenal teammate Mesut Ozil’s car

Watch: Sead Kolašinac staves off Knife wielding thieves to defend Arsenal teammate Mesut Ozil’s car with his bare hands.

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil found himself in the middle of a horror carjacking attempt on a London street by a knife wielding scooter gang. However, Arsenal teammate Sead Kolašinac leaped from the passenger seat and took on the gang members with his bare hands.

In what appears to be a CCTV footage, Kolašinac is seen jumping out of Ozil’s Mercedes G-Class SUV to confront the thieves. The thieves can be seen carrying knives but that doesn’t seem to bother the Bosnian one bit as he paces from side to side chasing the thugs away.

According to the Daily Mail, ‘Waiters and chefs from a restaurant rushed to the aid of the soccer stars forcing the scooter gang to flee empty handed.’ Neither of the two were harmed during the incident. Eye witness have however said that ‘“Ozil” looked absolutely terrified” and was “running for his life”.’

“I saw him disappear into the restaurant with the motorcycle guys on his tail,” he said.

“They didn’t take off their helmets and were all in black, wearing long sleeved tops in this hot weather. They stood out. It was really creepy.

“God knows what would have happened if they’d caught him. It looked to me like he’d have been hacked to shreds and he clearly thought so too.

“As soon as the restaurant staff started to come to the window and to the doorway, they turned around and roared off. The police were there shortly afterwards and the road was almost blocked off.”

The two Arsenal stars are yet to comment on the incident. However, spokespersons from Arsenal and Scotland Yard have given their statements.

An Arsenal Spokesperson confirmed the incident and assured that both players were fine. While A Scotland Yard spokesperson gave a little more insight in to the horrific episode:

“Police were called to Platts Lane, NW3, shortly before 5 pm on Thursday July 25 to reports of an attempted robbery.

“It was reported that suspects on motorbikes had attempted to rob a man who was driving a car.

“The driver, along with his passenger, managed to get away unharmed and travelled to a restaurant in Golders Green, where they were spoken to by officers. There have been no arrests. Enquiries continue.”
