Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan were involved in a horrible mix up, with Dhawan falling short of his ground by some distance, having been forced into the run by Kohli.

Kohli and Dhawan were going all nicely after Rohit’s departure, but against the run of play, there was some hesitation with respect to a run(which was never actually on) and Dhawan ultimately had to walk back, with Aiden Markram hitting the stumps down, running in from point.

The incident took place in the 13th over, when Dhawan tried to flick one of his pads and would have been trapped right in front if not for that faint inside edge.

The ball rolled onto the off-side, and while Dhawan was searching for the ball, Virat Kohli had already charged down the pitch, and was half-way there.

Shikhar Dhawan was livid with himself and with Kohli for having gone for that unnecessary run.

Kohli was trying to gesture to Dhawan that the run was on and that Dhawan was probably ‘ball watching’.

Dhawan was then pictured murmuring something to himself in the dressing room after the dismissal. He was evidently very flustered his dismissal.

Match Situation

Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli are presently at the crease, trying to rebuild after Dhawan’s untimely departure.

Kohli will be hoping to make amends for that mix up by getting a hefty score on board in this tricky run chase for India.

With Dhoni, Jadhav and Pandya to come in next, India would be confident of getting home comfortably.
