Shikhar Dhawan's funny reaction on Rohit Sharma

Shikhar Dhawan’s funny reaction on Rohit Sharma: The Indian opening batsman was seen sharing a laugh with the Indian journalists.

It has been six years now that India limited-overs opening pair of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma has batted together at the top of the order. The duo is currently at No. 4 on the list of most runs scored by an opening pair in ODIs.

In 90 innings together, Dhawan and Sharma have scored 4,040 runs at an average of 45.39. The duo has stitched 13 century and 13 half-centuries partnerships at the top of the order for India.

The record of most runs (6,609) by an opening pair in ODIs lies with the legendary opening pair of Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly. Given the way Sharma and Dhawan are going, you never know if they surpass it in the years to come.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference at Adelaide, Dhawan was asked about experience of opening the batting with Sharma. “I’ve batted with Rohit for a very long time now. We’re very comfortable batting with each other and know out roles well. We ensure that we have fun in the middle. There’s a sense of calmness and peace in knowing that someone like Rohit is at the other end,” Dhawan was quoted as saying.

Dhawan was also asked about Sharma newest innings as his wife Ritika Sajdeh recently gave birth to a baby girl. The southpaw was seen bursting into laughter as soon as he heard the question.

“Rohit ka kya hai? Acha baap ban chuka hai. Batting ka baap ya waise baap? Pehle toh Rohit ke liye bahut khush hoon ki wo baap ban gaya hai, uske liye aur uski wife ke liye. Of course, wo badaa khush hai. I’m sure he’ll be a great father. (Has Rohit become the father of batting or in his personal life? I am very happy for him and his wife for becoming parents. He is himself very happy. I’m sure he’ll be a great father),” Dhawan funnily replied.
