Steve Smith hits eye-catching six: The Australian batsman gave a fine finishing touch to his team in the final T20I at Newlands.

During the third T20I of the ongoing Australia’s tour of South Africa in Cape Town, Australia registered a comprehensive 97-run victory to win the series 2-1.

Chasing a 194-run target, the hosts put on display a shambolic batting performance for the second time in the series as they got bundled out for 96 in 15.3 overs.

All-rounder Ashton Agar, who picked his maiden T20I hat-trick in the first match, registered bowling figures of 4-0-16-3 to be the pick of Australian bowlers last night. Other than Agar, fast bowler Mitchell Starc, spinner Adam Zampa and all-rounder Mitchell Marsh also contributed with three, two and one wicket respectively.

In the first innings, Australia posted a formidable 193/5 in 20 overs after South Africa captain Quinton de Kock won the toss and chose to field. A 120-run opening partnership between David Warner (57) and captain Aaron Finch (55) laid the foundation for the visitors.

Losing wickets towards the second half of their innings hurt Australia but batsman Steve Smith scored 30* (15) with the help of two sixes to finish well for them.

Smith, who hit two sixes off South Africa fast bowler Anrich Nortje, gathered applause for his second big hit which he effortlessly hit over cover for an eye-catching six.
