WATCH : Team India celebrates their series win against Sri Lanka
After India’s terrible batting display in the first ODI at Dharamsala, Sri Lanka must have fancied their chances at winning their first ever bilateral series in the Indian subcontinent.
But stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma led the comeback in Mohali, as he smashed a brilliant 208 to knock the stuffing out of the Lankan attack.
In Vizag it was his opening partner, Shikhar Dhawan’s turn to lead from the front as the Delhi opener’s century guided India to a comfortable 8 wicket win in Vizag to clinch the series 2-1.
In the post match presentation, Rohit spoke about how the influx of youngsters brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the squad.

Probably the biggest positive from the series was the performance of Shreyas Iyer, as the Tamil Nadu batsman scored heavily in the 2nd and 3rd ODIs.
After a disappointing display in Dharamsala, Iyer batted supremely as he notched up back to back half centuries in Mohali and Vizag.
Iyer’s display with the bat would have heartened the selectors, as they can now give him an extended run at the number four slot.
The selectors have struggled to find a reliable number four ever since they decided to par ways with Yuvraj and Raina.
The likes of Rahul, Karthik and Pandey have all auditioned for that spot with none of them truly making it his own.
With an eye at the 2019 World Cup, Iyer has a wonderful chance to truly cement himself in the batting unit, as he could be the number four that India has been searching for.
After the series win, the players kick started the celebrations in the dressing room as the likes of Rohit, Dhoni and Dhawan all joined in the celebrations.
