Virat Kohli gives send off to Keiron Pollard as latter had dismissed him in the 1st innings on a golden duck

Virat Kohli and Keiron Pollard became the first captain duo to get dismissed for a golden duck in an ODI last night in Vizag. And while the duo would want to forget what transpired on the field with the bat in hand last night, they did have their share of fun whilst plying their trade on the field.

Pollard dismissed Kohli for a golden duck in the 1st innings, thanks to Kohli misjudging the pace of the ball and handing a simple catch to short mid-wicket. The West Indies captain went on a small celebration spree as soon as that transpired, pointing to the heavens, as he knew he had gotten the better of his opposite number.

When it was Pollard’s turn to bat, the game was in the balance, with Pooran and Hope having put the Windies in a good position to launch a late surge towards that mammoth target of India’s.

However, Mohammed Shami had other ideas, as he nicked Pollard off and tilted the game entirely in India’s favour. Virat Kohli, who had been on the receiving end of the Pollard celebration in the 1st innings, decided to give some back this time round, vociferously celebrating the wicket, knowing well that India had the game in the bag.

In the video of the wicket, you can see Kohli facing Pollard and trying to celebrate in face, making it clear to Pollard that he had seen what had happened in the 1st innings and wanted Pollard to have a taste of his own medicine in the 2nd.

India levelled the series against West Indies with that thumping win in Vizag and would do everything in their power to script a comeback series win in Cuttack. The final ODI takes place on Sunday, with the Indian batting lineup in fine form.

Virat Kohli has missed out in the 1st two games and would be itching to make a statement in the 3rd ODI, just like he did in the T20s. A King Kohli special seems to be just round the corner.
