Virat Kohli sledges Tim Paine

Virat Kohli sledges Tim Paine: The Indian captain was seen giving it back to his counterpart during the second day of the first Test.

During the second day of the first Test of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia at Adelaide, India captain Virat Kohli was seen giving it back to his counterpart in Tim Paine after he came out to bat during the Australian innings.

With Paine having offered verbals to one of India’s younger players during the Indian innings, Kohli gave the impression of taking the mantle on to himself. Kohli, who is also known for his aggression, doesn’t hesitate in crossing swords with the opposition players.

It all happened in the 58th over just when Paine had come out to bat. Paine defended the first ball that he played and found Kohli chirping some words near his ears. With Jasprit Bumrah making the ball talk, Kohli’s words made all the more sense.

Former Australia captain Michael Clarke, who was commentating while all of this happened, mentioned that Kohli’s words are majorly part of a revenge on the Australian captain.

Much like the other batsmen, Paine also failed to stand tall on the expectations. On the last delivery of the 63rd over, Paine had no answer to a beauty from India pacer Ishant Sharma. Having edged the ball to wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant, Paine ended up scoring 5 (20) with the help of one four.

Australia finished the day at 191-7 in 88 overs. With three wickets remaining, the hosts still trail by 59 runs. Head, who came in to bat when his team was in a spot of bother, scored his second half-century tor rescue his team. Head remained unbeaten on 61 (149) at stumps. His innings comprised of six fours.

Australia would be counting on the 24-year old batsman to continue his good form tomorrow, building some lead for his team. On the other hand, India would be hoping for their bowlers to not let the opposition tail wag for it is one facet of the game which has let them down in the past as well.
