Although a string of reports have affirmed that Lampard is set to get increased time at Chelsea, English manager is far from off the hook. His recent performances have seen the people responsible of decision making at the club grow increasingly despondent with the manager.
And David Orenstein has become the latest name to assert the growing discontent with Lampard. Talking to the Athletic, David went onto speak about how the club’s owner, Roman Abramovich was extremely downtrodden with Lampard at the moment.

“If Abramovich wants to make a change, if he’s had enough of Lampard – and we are told he’s very unhappy – then he won’t hesitate to act immediately, but I have the feeling that he’ll get a little bit more time to prove his worth, “Ornstein said.
Despite being put to the sword after accumulating a frugal 4 points from his last 18, Frank Lampard has managed to remain in the hot seat owing to his soiree with the side in the 2019-20 season. A top 4 finish despite being handed down a transfer ban has endeared with Roman and Marina with both also swung by the player’s status at the club.
However, things need to change and change fast for Lampard. He’s currently treading over thin ice after being routed 3-1 by Manchester City at the weekend with the next month said to be the defining moment for Lampard’s future at the club.
A segment of Chelsea’ squad is also said to have grown dismayed and disgruntled with Lampard with players citing their concern over tactics and a lack of playing time. Lampard’s inability to get the best out of Havertz and Werner hasn’t worked in his favour as well.
The Chelsea manager was accorded with 222 million pounds earlier to overhaul Chelsea’s squad. While the club did embark on a 16 match unbeaten run, things have gone down horrifically off the track ever since with the club winning just one of its last six matches.
