Neymar PSG Contract : The player is slated to put ink to paper to a new deal
For PSG, the last couple of years have been spearheaded b Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. Shelving out staggering amounts to rein in the players, the club has been working assiduously to nail down the duo’s future at the club.
Given the colossal influence the two have exerted at the club ever since their arrival, it was only prudent to go all out to offer the two new deals. While Kylian Mbappe is said to be biding his time as he looks to extract the best deal possible, Neymar is said to be on the verge of a new contract.
Neymar Set To Sign New Deal
The Brazilian who is currently out with his customary annual injury has scored 13 times and assisted on 6 occasions in 18 ties this season. And PSG’s sporting director, Leonardo has asserted that the club is working swiftly to iron out the remaining few nuances.
“We have also been talking with Neymar. We will reach an outcome imminently,” Leonardo said when talking about the 29 year old player whose deal curtails in 2022.
Leonardo Talks About Mbappe’s Contract
“I have been surprised by some of the talk surrounding Mbappe. He still has a full season [. His status at the club is more and more important and he is constantly shouldering more responsibilities,” Leonardo said when asked about Mbappe.
“Then there is consistency and his career path to take into account. We have been talking to him for some time and the time to make a decision has arrived. We have also been talking with Neymar. We will reach an outcome imminently.”
Mbappe is said to be holding out on signing on a new deal till he’s paid the same amount as Neymar is accorded. The French striker is also said to be eager to embed a release clause in his deal.
