When will Indian team be announced for West Indies tour for the T20, ODI, and Test match series beginning from August 3, 2019

The wait for Team India’s selection for the upcoming tour of West Indies continues as the announcement date has been deferred as per the recent reports.

The Indian fans and experts are anxiously looking for possible surprise(s) that might come their way with a world lot of speculations pertaining MS Dhoni’s selection, unavailability, retirement, and what not surfacing through various media reports since India semi-final exit from the 2019 World Cup.

There have also been reports doing rounds regarding an alleged rift between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma along with the possibility of the introduction of some new faces in the team.

The Indian team, for the 3-match T20 and ODI series and the two Test match series was scheduled to be announced on July 19 (Friday) by the M.S.K. Prasad- led selection committee, but the same has been deferred/ postponed to July 21 (Sunday).

Selection committee meeting postponed to Sunday

The selection committee, headed by M.S.K. Prasad, was scheduled to meet in Mumbai on Friday but the meeting now will be held on Sunday, as per the recent reports.

The fitness reports of players which will be reportedly available only on Saturday morning is among the primary reasons for the delay in the selection meeting.

“… the BCCI’s cricket operations team needs to apprise the chairman of the availability of the captain for the meeting. The fitness reports of the players will be available on Saturday evening,” a senior BCCI functionary told PTI.

While reports suggested that Virat Kohli would be rested for India’s tour of the West Indies, confirmed reports suggest that the India captain will travel to the West Indies for both the limited-overs series and the Test matches.

As per a latest tweet by CNN-News 18 Sports anchor and Senior Associate Editor, Meha Bhardwaj, the Selection committee meeting for the Indian team for West Indies will be on Sunday at 11:30 am.
