As real as it gets, but not as lucky.

First of all, let’s mention beforehand that Corpse Husband’s voice isn’t fake as many seem to suggest. The Youtuber has himself come forward & confessed to it being 100% his natural voice.

Right, so now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s look into the causes about why does Corpse Husband have a deep voice. First of all, Fibromyalgia. Yes, Corpse Husband suffers from Fibromyalgia, which is an incurable condition of the body. Patients with Fibromyalgia suffer from acute muscle pain when their body is under increased strain or pressure.

As scientific research proves, Fibromyalgia often affects a person’s vocal cords & thus, their voice. That’s because vocal cords are also a type of muscle & speaking involves the application of pressure on them. Usually, in a normal person, this pressure is hardly felt & not an issue at all. But in a person with Fibromyalgia, it’s a whole different story and can lead to a permanent disfigurement in their voice. In fact, Corpse Husband nearly lost his voice due to Fibromyalgia earlier in life.

Why does Corpse Husband have a deep voice: The GERD problem.

The second major reason behind his heavy voice is GERD, the Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease. GERD is a condition of the stomach that causes stomach acid to repeatedly rise up through the food type. Usually, this leads to significant irritation, discomfort & heartburn. However, in certain cases, the acid, rising up to your vocal cords, can cause damage to them as well. When affected in this way, a person’s voice loses intensity over time & the pitch lowers.

Long-term fans of Corpse have observed that even his voice has gotten heavier over the years.

“It’s been like this since I was like 12. I remember I used to call myself out of middle school. If I had to answer how I would say a combination of genetics and a health condition I have called GERD”, Corpse Husband said, on being asked of the reason.

So, that answers the question, doesn’t it? Genetically Corpse Husband got a voice on the heavier side, to begin with. Then, around the age of 12, his voice changed only to get heavier. It’s safe to assume that this is puberty acting on Corpse Husband’s voice to make it “manlier”. But, it was his continued suffering from Fibromyalgia & GERD that pushed it over the edge to give it the unique mould it has today.
