Team India’s loss 31-run loss against England in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 a couple of days ago at Edgbaston, was not received well by the numerous fans across the length and breadth of the country.
While MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav’s slowish innings during the closing stages of the match, received massive criticism from the fans and experts, a decent section also demanded changes in the playing 11 in the upcoming matches.
With India set to play Bangladesh at the same very venue on Monday, Team India’s batting coach Sanjay Bangar has come up with a massive statement on the flamboyant all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s chances of playing against Bangladesh on July 2.
What did Sanjay Bangar comment?
Addressing a pre-match press conference at Birmingham, Bangar revealed that the team will try out various combinations for the World Cup match vs Bangladesh.
What’s worth noticing is the fact that he also hinted Ravindra Jadeja’s inclusion in the Playing 11 as well.
“The team management will be open to various combinations in the next match. We will look at the wicket and the ground dimensions. We will look at Ravindra Jadeja coming in,” he added.
It is worth mentioning that Jadeja became the crowd’s favourite at Edgbaston the other day, when he took an absolute blinder of a catch to break the 160-run opening stand between Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy, thereby restricting them to 337/7 in 50 overs.
He also played in both the warm-up matches against New Zealand and Bangladesh, but is yet to find a place in the side for the main tournament. He even scored a excellent half-century versus New Zealand under pressure, when the entire team struggled to handle the pace and swing of the Kiwi bowlers.
“Bhuvaneshwar Kumar fit”- Bangar
Moreover, the 29-year-old Bhuvaneshwar Kumar is also available for selection vs Bangladesh as he has attained full fitness after the hamstring injury he endured during the match against Pakistan on June 16.

As per Bangar, Bhuvaneshwar was even available against England, but Mohammad Shami’s brilliant run with the ball meant he had to wait a bit longer. In fact, Shami picked up a five-wicket haul against England and has been the leading wicket-taker for India in the tournament so far, with 13 scalps in 3 matches.
It will thus, be interesting to see whether both Bhuvaneshwar and Jadeja get to feature in the Playing 11 versus Bangladesh as India still need a win in the remaining two league matches.
