Williams release statement about missing start of pre-season Barcelona testing
Winter testing is here and teams will be provided with the first real opportunity to test out their new 2019 season machines.
While most teams would be gunning to get out onto the track tomorrow in order to get their first set of data for the upcoming season, Williams won’t quite be able to do it.
The team has confirmed that they won’t be running on track on Monday and would only get started on Tuesday(if everything goes according to plan).
“Unfortunately we have had to delay the start of our pre-season test to Tuesday morning,” Claire Williams said.

“It’s clearly not ideal but equally it’s not the end of the world. We will obviously have our work cut out to recover the time lost.” she added.
Williams have had a long, hard winter, trying to develop a car that can get them off the bottom of the pack.
While things seem to be on the upside, Claire Williams is apologetic about the fact that they can’t put the car out on the track on time.
“We have had an incredibly busy winter at Grove getting the FW42 prepared for the season ahead and, despite everyone’s best efforts, we need some more time before it will be ready to run,” said Williams.
“Our absolute priority is to always ensure we bring a car to the track that is the best that it can be and sometimes that takes longer than you’d anticipate or like.” she concluded.
Do you think Williams would be able to put the car out on track on Tuesday?
