WWE Championship Match: Kofi Kingston to face Samoa Joe at WWE Extreme Rules

WWE Championship Match: Kofi Kingston to face Samoa Joe at WWE Extreme Rules for the WWE Championship.

The WWE have announced that Kofi Kingston will defend his WWE Championship against Samoa Joe at Extreme Rules. The fighting champion was brutalised by the Submission machine yesterday at Raw after his back to back matches against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

The Dreadlocked Dynamo managed to walk away victorious from his consecutive battles with Sami and Kevin. The duo had earlier implied that Kofi only managed to remain champion because of the assistance he got from his friends.

Kofi then beat both of them, albeit barely, to prove that he didn’t need help from anyone to remain the WWE champion. Just as he was making his way back, Samoa Joe ambushed him and choked him out with a Coquina clutch.

Almost a 3-way

Earlier in SmackDown, Dolph Ziggler announced that he would take on Kingston in a 2 out of 3 falls match. If the Show Off prevailed, he would be inserted into the WWE championship match.

The familiar foes fought each other in the main event of SmackDown. Kofi rolled up Ziggler to get the first fall. Ziggler then used unfair means to get an advantage before the start of the second fall. With kofi dazed, Ziggler scored a victory to even the score at one fall apiece.

Kofi and Ziggler fought hard in the third fall but Kofi managed to land a Trouble in Paradise. The kick to his head was too much for Ziggler to kick out from and Kofi ensured that he would only have to worry about Samoa Joe at Extreme Rules by picking up the victory.

WWE Extreme Rules will take place on July 14, 2019, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all.
