On the RAW after WrestleMania 39 episode, fans saw Brock Lesnar teaming up with Cody Rodes to fight Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. In fact, the tag team match was made official for the show’s main event. However, The Beast Incarnate ended up attacking The American Night before the match even started. The segment made it clear that WWE wants a Cody Rhodes versus Brock Lesnar match. And according to a report, the match might take place very soon.
In about a month, WWE will be flying to San Juan, Puerto Rico to host this year’s Backlash pay-per-view. Set to take place on May 6, 2023, the event will be hosted by Bad Bunny. And if the reports are true, fans might see The American Nightmare locking horns with The Beast Incarnate at the event.
WWE planning Cody Rhodes versus Brock Lesnar for the 2023 Backlash pay-per-view
Recently, WrestlingBlog made a Twitter post shedding light on some major plans WWE has for this year’s Backlash PPV. According to the report, there are plans about a Cody Rhodes versus Brock Lesnar match at the event.
WrestlingBlog noted that there were talks about doing that match at the King & Queen of the Ring pay-per-view. WWE will host that event on May 27, 2023, from the Jeddah Super Dome in Saudi Arabia. However, the plan, as of now, is to do it at Puerto Rico’s event.
For what I’m been told Cody Rhodes vs Brock Lesnar is been planned to take place at Backlash, there where talks to take place at King & Queen of the ring PPV at Saudi but I’m been told Backlash is the main plan right now

When the Lesnar turning on Cody Rhodes segment happened, everyone thought it was Mr. McMahon’s booking. However, it seems the 77-year-old had nothing to do with it. According to reports, the Brock-Cody storyline was decided weeks before WrestleMania 39.
WWE reportedly had planned the whole feud way before Vince McMahon got involved in the creative
Fightful Select, in a recent report, claimed WWE had finalized Cody Rhodes versus Brock Lesnar over a month ago. The report stated that the whole angle was not the work of Vince McMahon.
In fact, it got a green signal way before he was involved in the creative process. Fightful claimed the plan of Brock betraying Cody was set a month before WrestleMania 39.

Nevertheless, Cody Rhodes versus Brock Lesnar is a match worth putting on a stage like SummerSlam or WrestleMania. However, considering how WWE selects its PPV venues right now, Backlash won’t be a bad idea. All that is left to see is when WWE makes the match official.
