“I wish I could have been there with you all tonight in the WWE ThunderDome but unfortunately, as I’m sure you’ve heard already, I’ve tested positive for COVID-19,” McIntyre said. “Now, I’m one of the fortunate ones with no symptoms but I assure you COVID should not be taken lightly.

“Don’t think you can’t catch it, because you can. If it can happen to me, it can happen to anybody and the only way we’re going to be able to stop this thing is by working together. So please wear your mask and follow social distancing guidelines. It’s not just to protect you, it’s to protect everyone and their loved ones. I’ll see you all really, really soon. But until then, stay safe.”

McIntyre is currently in the middle of a feud with Goldberg. Interestingly, there was no mention of their scheduled match at Royal Rumble. More amazingly though, it is heartwarming to see the WWE have their main champion give a speech like this after going to lengths to avoid mentioning the disease on television for the entirety of 2020.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
