Goldberg returns and challenges Drew McIntyre for WWE Championship at Royal Rumble while claiming that Scottish Psychopath has no respect for legends.
Former Universal Champion Goldberg made a return on tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW and challenged Drew McIntyre for his WWE Championship. McIntyre, who had just thwarted Keith Lee in the main event accepted the challenge.

This was an unexpected twist. It was long assumed that Goldberg was gunning for a match with Roman Reigns. It made sense considering their respective alignments. Goldberg is a baby face while Reigns is a heel. In the end, it turned out to be a smokescreen for the actual showdown.
Goldberg returns and challenges Drew McIntyre for WWE Championship at Royal Rumble
After vanquishing Lee, McIntyre appeared to be thanking all the legends who appeared on tonight’s episode of RAW Legend’s Night. Goldberg then walked out and claimed that the WWE Champion had no respect for the legends and he wanted to humble him once and for all.

McIntyre then proved Goldberg right by saying:
“You couldn’t beat me. Honestly, fighting you would be like fighting my own dad, mate!”
The show closed out with Goldberg pushing McIntyre down before the two shared an aggressive stare down.

This will be Goldberg’s first match since losing the Universal Championship to Braun Strowman at last year’s Wrestlemania.
Interestingly, while Goldberg has won the Universal Championship and the now defunct World Heavyweight Championship, he has never won the WWE title. He is also a former WCW Champion, meaning that he has held every World Title ever defended in the WWE bar the WWE Championship.
Will he be able to win the only title not in his collection or will McIntyre carry the title beyond the Royal Rumble remains to be seen.
