This has led to some complains from fans who want to see new faces in the main event scene. However, according to Lashely during an interview with Fightful, there is an explanation as to why the Scottish Warrior keeps getting several opportunities at the championship.

Bobby Lashley explains why Drew McIntyre keeps getting WWE title shots

“Everyone keeps talking ‘why does Drew keep getting an opportunity?’ Drew keeps getting an opportunity because no one is beating him. He’s number two. Let someone else be number two and that’s who gets the opportunity. We’re at a case right now to see who steps up to be number two. A lot of guys are really close to being able to do it and getting that momentum, but we don’t know. I don’t know if someone from the outside is going to come in to get some of this and wants to get beat up and sent back. I’m anxious to find out.”

The two will fight each other this Sunday inside Hell in a Cell. If McIntyre fails to dethrone Lashley this time he will no longer get another shot at the WWE title as long as Lashley remains the champion.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
