Sami Zayn reveals he accidentally hit WWE Hall of Famer with nasty Helluva kick

Sami Zayn reveals he accidentally hit WWE Hall of Famer with a nasty Helluva kick. So much so that he could feel his skull through his feet.

Sami Zayn is one of the best wrestlers in the world today. There aren’t many who can do what he does at the level he constantly does. However, even a consummate professional like him is prone to the occasional blunders. Unfortunately, for him his blunders came against a couple of WWE Hall of Famers.

The Helluva Kick, Zayn’s finisher, is a dangerous looking move. When done correctly though, it’s quite harmless. While speaking with Fox Sports, Zayn recalled wrestling X-Pac at CHIKARA King of Trios 2011 where his timing was a bit off and X-Pac’s face bore the brunt of it.

“There are a couple of guys that I really smoked with that kick and they’re the last guys that you would ever wanna smoke that badly,” Zayn said. “One of them was X-Pac. I wrestled him in 2011, and again I was so excited about this match. I have so much respect for this guy, a genuine trailblazer, deserves both Hall of Fame rings, if not a third one for his individual contributions.

“I’m in the ring with him and we’re having this match; and I guess maybe I ran too fast, I don’t know what was going on, but I absolutely obliterated him. Obliterated him to the point where I could feel his skull through my foot — it’s very hard to explain. Upon contact I was like, ‘Oh that was so much harder than I wanted to do that. That’s too much’”

Zayn further revealed that he would also plant a stiff one on Jushin Thunder Liger’s face as well.

“And the other one, another legend, is Jushin “Thunder” Liger,” Zayn continued. “Wrestled him in Los Angeles in, maybe, 2009? 2010? Same thing. The last guy you’d ever want to hurt and again I must’ve had a little too much momentum. Absolutely obliterated him.”

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
