John Cena comments on the Rock making a potential return to WWE

John Cena comments on the Rock making a potential return to WWE. The Brahma Bull is reportedly set to return for the upcoming Survivor Series.

The Rock is reportedly penciled in for a Wrestlemania program against cousin Roman Reigns. Before that however, there has been speculation that he may appear at Survivor Series. This would both be a celebration of his WWE debut 25 years ago and the set up for his high profile feud with the Tribal Chief.

The Rock however, has denied any such plans. When asked if he could tease anything about a potential WWE return for him, he simply said there’s nothing. Fans are hoping this is a red herring and he does come back. Old rival John Cena is on the same boat.

While speaking to ETOnline.com to promote his movie The Suicide Squad, John Cena spoke of his desire to see the Rock in a WWE ring once again.

“Dwayne Johnson is a star in his own universe. There is no one like him. There will never be anyone like him. For him to be gracious enough to return to WWE, its own global entertainment phenomenon, that’s great for WWE and it is great for The Rock.”

“As a fan of WWE, I really hope he returns,” he added. “I think it would be special for everyone.”

John Cena himself has only just returned to the WWE and has declared his intentions to dethrone Reigns and winning the Universal Championship at SummerSlam. Reigns however, has turned down the challenge and will instead face Finn Balor, although it is expected that Cena will eventually get in the title picture and fight for the title in the main event of SummerSlam.

SummerSlam 2021 will take place on August 21, 2021, at Allegiant Stadium in the Las Vegas suburb of Paradise, Nevada. It will be the 34th event under the SummerSlam chronology. It will also be the first to take place on a Saturday since the 1992 event; although it will be the first to air live on a Saturday.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
