“I want to wrestle with Brock in the WWE” – former UFC Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier on a potential showdown with the Beast Incarnate.
Daniel Cormier recently pulled the curtains on his UFC career after a UFC Heavyweight title clash against Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 252. He lasted all 5 rounds but failed to win the last match of his career. Cormier however, has no plans of avenging the loss. He has had a brilliant career in MMA and he has maintained that he is done with the sport. Besides, he seems to have his eyes on someone else on another field altogether.

Speaking with Ariel Helwani, Cormier opened up on the possibility of going face to face with Brock Lesnar. The former UFC Champ-Champ, laid out a challenge for the Beast Incarnate at Wrestlemania. Not the upcoming one however, but Wrestlemania 38, which he believes will give them enough time to build the feud.
“I want to wrestle with Brock in the WWE” – Daniel Cormier
“I’m done, I want to wrestle with Brock in the WWE, that’s where I want to fight Brock,” Cormier said. “I want to fight him on his terms. You know, two old guys in the UFC Octagon going at it, 43-41-year-old guys seem fun, boy, me and Brock at WrestleMania that would be a good time.”
Cormier joked that he would have Helwani ringside, to which Helwani responded by saying he could take care of Heyman.
Cormier stated that the story writes itself because of their history but wanted a year to properly build the feud.
“I don’t know if the build simmers enough for me, I want a year, at least 12 months of a build before I get locked..…[there].”

The UFC have long tried to book a fight between Cormier and Lesnar. The two infamously got into a scuffle after Cormier’s Heavyweight title win over Miocic at UFC 226 back in 2018. The bout never took place following Lesnar’s retirement.
The WWE have expressed interest in bringing Cormier to the promotion. However, reports suggest that the WWE want him on commentary. It will be interesting to see if he gets signed as an in-ring performer as well.
