Roman Reigns discusses his feud with John Cena back in 2017. The two are scheduled to face each other in the main event of SummerSlam.

Roman Reigns is the biggest star of all active wrestlers in the WWE today just as John Cena was in his time. It is only fitting that the two take on each other in the main event of the biggest party of the Summer. This however, is not the first time they will face each other.

The two previously fueded back in 2017 leading to a match at No Mercy. Reigns may have come out on top back then however, fans remember the storyline for Cena breaking the fouth wall to absolutely dismantle Reigns on the mic.

Speaking with Joseph Staszewski of The New York Post, the Head of the table talked about his promo battle with the Cenation Leader and how he has grown in the time since.

“[I] was still trying to figure that stuff out, still living under the label of what WWE wanted me to be. And now with me turning that completely upside down, and doing what I feel is right and doing what I want to do, and what makes sense to me and what’s logical to me and showcasing the layers of the personality that I want to display”

Cena and Reigns will take on each other at SummerSlam for the Universal Championship.

SummerSlam 2021 will take place on August 21, 2021, at Allegiant Stadium in the Las Vegas suburb of Paradise, Nevada. It will be the 34th event under the SummerSlam chronology. It will also be the first to take place on a Saturday since the 1992 event; although it will be the first to air live on a Saturday.
