Sasha Banks sounds warning bells when pressed on about her clash with NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai at WWE NXT Great American Bash.
One half of the WWE Women’s tag team champion Sasha Banks will be in action tonight at the Great American Bash. She will be facing the NXT Women’s champion Io Shirai, in a non-title match. The Boss sent out a challenge on social media. Shirai was quick to accept and thus the cross-brand match was set.

Shirai and Banks are both two of the best performers, not just in the women’s division or the world but all over the world. It is fair to term the clash a dream match. Banks acknowledged that Shirai was a unique performer but claimed that she would destroy her.
Sasha Banks speaks up on her clash with NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai
“She brings such a unique style. She has a lot of lucha libre and the joshi pro wrestling style,” Banks said. “She’s known as one of the greatest in Japan, but she’s not better than Sasha Banks. I’m telling you, I’m the best in the world.
“She may be great in Japan and she may be OK and starting to get a little notice in NXT. Tonight, I will make her into the star she is supposed to be because that’s what a leader is supposed to do. So make sure you watch tonight on the USA channel at 8:00 p.m. ET and watch me destroy Io and show her why this has always been my NXT.”
Shirai won her maiden NXT women Championship from Charlotte Flair, a member of an illustrious group called the 4 horsewomen that also includes Becky Lynch, Bayley and Sasha Banks as well. The NXT Women’s champion has the huge opportunity to share the ring with and beat another horsewoman but Banks sees the match as just another night at work.
“It’s nothing, it’s just work,” Banks said. “It’s just collecting another check, honey bunny. Do you not work? Do you not go into an office? I know you’re probably sitting at home. It’s nothing new. I’m just here to collect my check and collect all the debts that these NXT students owe me.”
