Randy Orton says he wants to be like former WWE Champion

Randy Orton says he wants to be like former WWE Champion. The Viper is one of the most respected performers backstage in the WWE.

Randy Orton is still one of the centrepieces of WWE TV. He still has a number of years left in him. That however, hasn’t stopped the Viper from planningfor life  beyond the squared circle, which funnily would still keep him near the business that he grew up in.

Orton recently appeared on  The Kurt Angle Show, and told his former colleague that he wants his life after wrestling to mirror his Evolution stablemate, Ric Flair’s. He gave an example of how he saw the Nature Boy on Raw even though he wasn’t scheduled to be on it simply because of his love for the industry.

Randy Orton says he wants to be like former WWE Champion Ric Flair

“I saw Ric Flair on (Monday). I asked him, you know, ‘Are you doing something tonight on the show?’ He said, ‘No, Randy, I love coming around. I love seeing the guys, I love seeing you guys talk and putting stuff together. I love talking to some guys. The comradery, he said he loved this business. And I love being around it. If Charlotte wasn’t there, he would have been there anyway.I know it.”

“I like that attitude. I like that he looks at this industry, not even just at Vince or WWE, but at professional wrestling as a whole. And you can say that it’s made me happy and given me so much. And I’ve met so many other people happy, and feel some kind of way because of what he did in the ring.”

“I want to feel like that too. And I feel like he is happy and content and wouldn’t change a thing. (He) made many mistakes, also made many positive situations and positive moments, and memorable moments for fans a million times over. I would love to be in his shoes one day where I can be happy with my body of work and just kind of sit back and be a grandpa and watch the grandkids play and had been a WWE Superstar. And that’s all I need to be.”

There’s still some time before Orton gets to be where Ric Flair is at. However, it is heartwarming to see that even after he’s done with wrestling he still wants to be involved with it in whatever capacity he can.

Archie is a WWE and UFC Editor/Author at the SportsRush. Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
