Roman Reigns reveals general attitude in the locker room to return of live fans

Roman Reigns reveals general attitude in the locker room to return of live fans. The WWE welcomed live audience in attendance on this week’s episode of SmackDown.

The WWE ran its weekly episodes without a live audience for most of 2020 and half of this year. They began implementing a larger-scale in-arena production; a bio-secure bubble billed as the WWE ThunderDome. It featured screens surrounding the ring displaying virtual spectators via videoconferencing from August onwards.

The ThunderDome allowed the WWE to emulate the experience of a live audience. However, the experience at Wrestlemania 37 proved how it paled in comparison to an actual crowd that cheered or booed at their whim. While speaking with CBS Sports, Universal Champion Roman Reigns revealed the locker room’s reaction to the news of the company’s return to live touring and audience.

“I would say everybody’s pretty excited. I would say, there might be some questions for each individual that I can’t answer for. As far as being able to get back to what we do and creating an atmosphere and experience like no other, it’s something that I think everybody in the locker room and the roster has been dying to do.

“It was what it was with the ThunderDome and just having the ability to continue to provide entertainment for all of our fans globally going through the struggle of the pandemic and lockdown and quarantine together; that has been an awesome experience. Now, it’s ran its course and I think everybody is excited to get back and feel that energy and feel that audience.”

Roman Reigns is scheduled to defend his Universal Championship against Edge at Money in the Bank this Sunday. The two were originally supposed to face each other at Wrestlemania. However, the inclusion of Daniel Bryan made it a triple threat. They will now finally have a chance at a singles match to settle it all.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
