“Arsenal using my theme song. The only thing missing, due to COVID, is 30,000 fans chanting ‘You Suck’ #YouSuckCovid #itstrue,” Kurt Angle wrote on twitter,

For those out of the loop, Angle isn’t having a dig at Arsenal’s dismal form. The chorus of his entrance music fits the words ‘You suck’; A chant directed at him during his WWE days. The chant was originally used to antagonize him but eventually became a term of endearment.

With Covid-19 preventing fans from fans from attending the games, Angle was lamenting the absence of the chants before sending one out towards the pandemic’s way.

“I cannot fault the spirit but it wasn’t enough”

Coming back to the match itself, Arsenal and Crystal Palace played out a goalless draw. With this result, Mikel Arteta’s side see their three match win streak come to a halt. The game in itself wasn’t too bad but it leaned more towards lackluster with their best chance coming off of Hector Bellerin early on.

The bright side for the Gunners was a clean sheet. This is the 4th consecutive match where they kept their opponents goalless, the first time they’ve done so since October 2016!

“I wanted to see a win and a few goals but we were fatigued. I cannot fault the spirit but it wasn’t enough,” Arteta said after the match. “We created a lot of situations against the low block but there was a period when we gave the ball away too much.

“We are playing a lot of games and you can see fatigue. Many players aren’t fresh. We lacked the quality in the final third to win the game.”

Arsenal are now 11th in the league. Still some way from a Champions League spot. The North Londoners will hope to continue their momentum in order to secure a top 4 place following their worst start to a season since 1974/75.
