Randy Orton’s Royal Rumble opponent revealed

Randy Orton’s Royal Rumble opponent revealed. The Viper will take part in a gimmick match at the upcoming pay per view.

Randy Orton’s character had grown a bit stale in the years before. Since last year however, he has had a revival in his career. The Viper carried the WWE on his shoulders when it desperately needed a star to help steer the ship during the early days of the pandemic.

A new year has come by and Orton continues to be a must watch feature on RAW. He has already announced his participation in the Royal Rumble match. However, he is still involved in stories outside of the 30 men countdown battle royal.

Through his actions, he has made several enemies on the show. With no lack of opponents, some have wondered what will Orton do at the Royal Rumble. Will he take on an old foe, a new one or continue to aim for another shot at the WWE Championship via the Royal Rumble? It seems that we now have the answer on our hands.

Randy Orton’s Royal Rumble opponent revealed

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Orton’s Royal Rumble participation is a red herring. The Apex Predator will resume his feud with the Fiend.

If you recall, Bray Wyatt was burned to a crisp in their last match at TLC. A return however, has continually been teased with Alexa Bliss continuously being a thorn on Orton’s side.

It seems that the two will square off in yet another gimmick match at Royal Rumble. There is no word on when Wyatt will return to the WWE. However, with just two episodes of RAW left until the Rumble, it’s probably soon.

“Orton vs. Fiend in a gimmick match was the only other match we’ve heard as going to happen,” the report read. “Lashley vs. Riddle was moved to being a TV squash. There’s 17 days to go and there really aren’t even hints of much else. “

Interestingly, Orton and Wyatt’s last two matches against each other have been gimmick matches. The House of Horrors was received very poorly. Conversely, their Inferno match was praised from all quarters.

It will be interesting to see what gimmick will their upcoming match employ. Regardless of the match type though, fans will hope they get a match on par or better than what they saw at TLC and not what they got almost 4 years back.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
