Rhea Ripley set to defend RAW Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania Backslash

Rhea Ripley set to defend RAW Women’s Championship at Wrestlemania Backslash. This will be her 2nd defence of the title she won at Wrestlemania 37.

Rhea Ripley beat Asuka at Wrestlemania to win her first Women’s Championship on the main roster. The RAW Women’s Champion immediately defended the title on RAW against the same opponent. However, an interference from Charlotte Flair prevented Asuka from reclaiming her title.

The Empress of Tomorrow will now have another shot at the RAW Women’s Championship at Wrestleaman ia Backlash. The match was announced right before this week’s episode of RAW. Interestingly, this will be a one on one match despite the WWE seemigly hinting towards a triple threat involving Charlotte too.

Rhea Ripley set to defend RAW Women’s Championship against Asuka at Wrestlemania Backslash

An excerpt from WWE.com read:

“Ripley captured her first Raw Women’s Title from Asuka in a thrilling matchup on The Grandest Stage of Them All, and The Nightmare’s ability and take-no-prisoners attitude makes her a true force of nature. Considering the often unmatched skill of The Empress, will Ripley will have what it takes to best Asuka a second time? Will she be ready for Asuka … again?”

It will be interesting to see if the WWE write Charlotte into the match. Both Asuka and Ripley are very talented wrestlers. However, for some reason their match seems to lack something. Could Charlotte be the missing ingredient? Guess we’ll have to wait and find out.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
