Sasha Banks Bayley Break Up segment records highest viewership on any wrestling show in months

Sasha Banks Bayley Break Up segment records highest viewership on any wrestling show in months. The Golden Role Models have finally broken up.

From the day Sasha Banks and Bayley joined hands, a split was inevitable. It was never a matter of ‘if’ but when. In the meantime, the WWE told an intricate story of two power hungry women who, on the surface, were friends but remained cautious of each other in their quest for gold.

The Golden Role Models, as they liked to call themselves, won every women’s title on the main roster to establish their dominance on their division. However, it all came crumbling when Banks’ poor record of defending her titles came back to bite her.

The Boss started losing her confidence. She then lost her tag title before eventually losing her supposed best friend on last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown. The brutal beatdown, while expected, was one of the most enjoyable segments in the WWE for sometime now and it showed in the numbers it pulled.

Bayley’s vicious assault on Sasha Banks to end their friendship  averaged 2.32 million viewers, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.

“The 9-9:30 which was the Tag Team title rematch with Sasha [Banks] and Bayley and Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler and their subsequent break-up did a big number,” Meltzer said. “It was 2.32 million viewers – that was the highest segment for anything on any show for months.”

SmackDown ended up averaging 2.129 million viewers.

Banks has been written off the show with an injury with the WWE stating that she has suffered a severe bone bruise in her knee, as well as a compressed nerve in her neck following the attack. Bayley will address her actions on the upcoming episode of SmackDown this week.
