Sami Zayn Night of Champions 2023

WWE has announced that the Night of Champions will take place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Premium Live Event will emulate live on May 27th. Aside from that, WWE will also organize another Premium Live Event in Saudi Arabia later this year. But the forthcoming event, Night of Champions, has led to speculations that Kevin Owen and Sami Zayn would be unwilling to work on the show. A new report states that Saudi Arabia has “no issues” with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn working the show.

In case you didn’t know, Sami Zayn is a Canadian-Syrian. Neither Zayn nor Owens has ever worked at a Saudi Arabian event due to the nation’s political conflicts with Syria.

The best of friends defeated The Usos at WrestleMania 39 and claimed the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championships. It’s safe to bet that Owens and Zayn are the top babyfaces in WWE today, alongside Cody Rhodes.

Saudi Arabia reportedly has “no issues” with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn showing up at the Night of Champions

As the name implies, Night of Champions will be the night when all Championships in WWE will be defended. After WWE announced that the event will take place in Saudi, fans were quick to jump to the conclusion that Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens would drop their Championships before the event.

However, a popular Twitter user, Boozer 666, famous for his spoilers and reports, revealed that Saudi Arabia has no issues with the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champions.

The report read-

“Saudi has no issues with both KO and Sami. They love them and want them. It’s solely up to both KO and Sami. Hopefully both make the right choice, they are so important rn. “

This leaves the ball in Owens and Zayn’s court. The duo will have to put their differences with Saudi Arabia and work the event. If they refuse, WWE may have them drop the titles or forgo the tag team Championship match that night. We will have to wait and see how Owens and Zayn respond to Saudi Arabia’s reported amiability.

WWE has a 10-year deal with Saudi Arabia

WWE established its long-term relationship with Saudi Arabia in 2018 by signing a ten-year deal. The deal allows the wrestling promotion to organize two Premium Live Events in the country each year. It is reported that WWE earns a whopping $50 million from a single event.

This means that the company makes $100 million from its contract with Saudi Arabia each year. It’s safe to bet that Saudi is WWE’s largest rainmaker. The contract will reportedly expire in 2028, however, additional time may be added due to the lack of shows during the global pandemic.
