The Miz unsuccessfully cashes in MITB contract at WWE TLC. This is the third time in the last 4 years that the contract has failed to yield a champion.
Drew McIntyre took on AJ Styles at TLC with the WWE Championship on the line. This was the first time they were in a standing opposite each other but you wouldn’t be able to tell because of how good the chemistry between the two was tonight.

The match would soon turn into a triple threat once the Miz ran out with his Money in the Bank briefcase and cashed in his contract for a world title match. With both Styles and McIntyre laid out, the A-Lister slowly climbed the ladder to become a two-time WWE Champion.

Money in the bank was WWE’s means to propel someone from the midcard to the main event. In recent years however, the briefcase has rarely converted into a title run. In fact, off the last winners, only Brock Lesnar has become a world champion.
Baron Corbin, Braun Strowman and now the Miz have all unsuccessfully cashed in their MITB contracts. With Corbin and Strowman however, storywise, they did very little wrong. The lonewolf was wary of John Cena by the ropes and was rolled up by Jinder Mahal. Strowman on the other hand, had his match interrupted by a rampaging Lesnar making his return. The Miz however, came off incredibly stupid tonight.
Yes, the Miz is a cocky heel. However, his entire persona has been based around his opportunistic instincts. He should have sped up the ladder with McIntyre and Styles knocked out. Instead, he slowly climbed the ladder allowing Omos to pick him up and throw him on the table.
Later in the match, McIntyre and Styles fought on the ladder. Instead of pushing the ladder down, the Miz set another ladder next to them and attempted to unhook the WWE Championship.
Ignoring the Miz’s idiocy, this was otherwise a very good match and perfectly set the night up. The match came to an end after McIntyre climbed the ladder to pluck his WWE Championship on the final pay per view of the year.
Seize the moment, and stay in it.
