Former WWE writer questions Edge’s decision to enter WWE Royal Rumble 2021 instead of going after Randy Orton who put him out of commission.
Edge made a miraculous return at last year’s Royal Rumble. That appearance would set the tone for his rivalry with Randy Orton in the coming months. The two faced each other at Wrestlemania before going at it again at Backlash.

The R-rated superstar drew first blood before Orton evened the score with his former tag team partner at Backlash. Unfortunately, Edge suffered a triceps injury during the match. This would keep him out for months postponing the decider.
Edge promised that he would be back and get his revenge on the Viper. There was no word on when that would happen. We do know now that he will return at this year’s Royal Rumble. This however, has left Vince Russo puzzled, who doesn’t understand why he isn’t out for Orton’s blood.
Former WWE writer Vince Russo questions Edge’s decision to enter WWE Royal Rumble 2021
“That’s my issue. That’s what I thought. So why’s he going into the Royal Rumble. The issue should be with Orton. It’s not okay,” Russo said. “What about the story with Orton? What about Orton? I realized that right away. I wasn’t sure but now that I know that [Edge lost to Orton], so why aren’t you coming back after it?”
To be fair to the WWE and Edge, Orton has long announced his participation at the 30-men countdown battle royal match. Participating in that match is one way to get Orton, unless either of them get eliminated before the other enters the match and that seems very unlikely to happen.
However, if the Rumble is one way to set up the final Edge vs Orton, where does that leave Bray Wyatt, the man Orton is currently feuding with? It will be interesting to see how the WWE deals with this story in the coming months.
