WrestleMania attendance record

Will Wrestlemania 38 also be a two night event? The last two editions of the Pay Per View have taken place over two nights instead of one.

Wrestlemania is WWE’s biggest show of the year. The Pay Per View has been termed Wrestling’s Christmas. For 35 years, it has been a single night event like all other WWE shows. The last two events however, have taken place over an entire weekend.

Considering how long Wrestlemania 35 went, the split over two nights has been much easier to digest for fans. It also allows for more time for the talent on the card to shine. It seems to be the way going forward. But what does the WWE think about the format for Wrestlemanias in the future?

Will Wrestlemania 38 also be a two night event?

According to a recent tweet from the WrestleVotes Twitter account, Wrestlemania 37 is viewed as a success. However, the WWE still plan to hold the next one in a single night instead of the two day format they  recently employed.

“Now that the weekend is behind us, nearly everyone I’ve spoke to regarding WrestleMania had positive things to say. Aside from the weather, everything went smooth. The 2 day event was viewed as a success, but plans still remain for 1 single night next year in Dallas.”

It can be argued that the event feels bigger when held over a single night. But the same can also be said about it lasting over an entire weekend. If Wrestlemania 35 is anything to go by, the single night format can be a little tiring especially for the live audience who lost all their energy by the time the main event came about.

Unless the WWE are willing to drastically reduce trim the fat off their Wrestlemania Cards, the event should be taking place over two days for all versions in the future. With almost a year till the next Mania, though, there is still enough time for the promotion to think this over.
