Rey Mysterio’s ongoing rivalry with The Judgment Day is far from over. After defeating Dominik at WrestleMania 39, Mysterio expected to move on. But, Bad Bunny’s interference in their match birthed a new feud. Bunny is rumored to team up with Mysterio to take on Damien Priest and Dominik at WWE Backlash. However, at one point, Santos Escobar and Finn Balor were also considered to be added to the equation, making it a six-man tag team match.
In the edition of Raw after WrestleMania, Bad Bunny faced consequences for meddling in the father-son feud. Damien Priest got ahold of the Puerto Rican rapper and put him through the announce table. Bad Bunny is set to appear on next week’s Raw ahead of Backlash. His match at Backlash will likely be made official on Raw.
The rumored plan for WWE Backlash involving Rey Mysterio and Bad Bunny was a six-man tag team match
Although it’s not official yet, Bad Bunny is set to team up with Rey Mysterio against Dominik and Damien Priest at Backlash. However, the initial plans were different.
According to PWInsider, it was previously rumored to be a six-man tag team match. Santos Escobar was going to join Rey and Bunny and lock horns with Dominik, Damien Priest, and Finn Balor. LWO’s Santos Escobar has been actively revolting against Judgement Day.

‘It was previously rumored that the match could have been a six-man bout involving Bunny, Rey, and Santos Escobar against Priest, Dominik, and Finn Balor. However, the current plan is for the tag team match.”
In Puerto Rico, this is nice. The improvements Dominik has made in the last 12 months are staggering. Good for him getting this spot.
I’d have added Santos Escobar and Finn Balor, but I think the latter is injured, and may miss out.
Good stuff either way. pic.twitter.com/jSnJmTKufE

On the last edition of SmackDown, Santos Escobar teamed up with Rey Mysterio and took on Damien Priest and Finn Balor. Even though Escobar looked great in the ring, he got caught with Priests’ South of Heaven. As it stands, WWE’s current plan is to have a standard tag team match at Backlash. But we will have to wait and see if the plans change.
It’s worth noting that Judgement Day is feuding with LWO. Rhea Ripley is slated to defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Zelina Vega at Backlash. So, we can’t rule out a potential six-man tag team match yet.

Bunny made his stellar debut in 2021 teaming up with Damien Priest against The Dirt Sheet. Interestingly, Bunny and Priest have become sworn enemies today. It will be interesting to see how the Puerto Rican native performs at Backlash.
