WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match set for Wrestlemania 37 Night Two

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match set for Wrestlemania 37 Night Two. The number one contenders were decided in a tag team turmoil match.

A Tag Team Turmoil match, when you bare it to the bones, is essentially a tag team version of the gauntlet match. In the last few years, the WWE have used this match type to propel wrestlers into the main event. Tonight was not one of those occasions.

This was a series of short matches that felt like it was on the card simply to fill it and if we’re being honest, it probably was. The point was to find a challenger to the Women’s tag team champions and this match did exactly that. Unfortunately that was all it did.

The match began with Lana and Naomi vs Carmella and Billie Kay. The former iconics member got the first pin on Naomi with an illegal assist from Carmella.

Out came the Riott Squad and this time it was Kay’s turn to receive a double-team finisher and get pinned.

An incensed Carmella left after laying Liv Morgan with a Super Kick.

Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose were the fourth team in the match. The two teams went back and forth for a while with quick tags and two counts. Ultimately, the Riott Squat came out on top after Morgan rolled up Rose.

The announcer incorrectly announced that the Riott Squad were eliminated before correcting himself.

The final team to enter the match were second generation wrestlers, Natalya and Tamina.

Morgan tried once again to roll her way to a win. However, the veterans were too dominant to be taken down this easily. Tamina ended the match with a Superfly Splash to book a date with the Women’s Tag Team Champions tomorrow night.

There was no need for this match to be on Wrestlemania. It could have easily taken place on SmackDown and the SmackDown tag team Championship match could have replaced this one on the card. Hopefully, tomorrow’s match makes up for the lacklustre booking today.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
