“The Nature Boy” Ric Flair is 73 and retired, but the Hall of Famer often manages to be in the news. For the last few weeks, The Dirtiest Player in the Game has been involved in a verbal war with one of his former fellows. As it happens, Ric Flair was p*ssed off with something Eric Bischoff had said in Flair’s upcoming documentary. Speaking on his podcast, The Nature Boy expressed his anger over Bischoff’s remarks by calling him a prick.
After that, Ric Flair posted a clip of him from the 90s and called out Eric Bischoff. The banter didn’t stop there as the former WCW head commentator commented on the post. Bischoff even went on to write that it was he who made The Nature Boy. Now, the whole dispute has escalated even more as Bischoff recently addressed his remarks on his podcast.
Eric Bischoff claims WCW brought Hulk Hogan because Ric Flair wasn’t bankable
While speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff recently explained the statement that he made about Ric Flair. Bischoff stated The Nature Boy should thank him as he brought the best out of him in WCW. Instead of just being a whiny baby, he wanted Flair to appreciate him for helping him get over.

Moreover, the former WCW commentator recalled the time when Ted Turner signed Flair. He noted that The Nature Boy didn’t bring any profit to the company and then, when he went to WWE, the same was the case. Bischoff mentioned Flair again signing with WCW and not bringing any money. In fact, he claimed that was the reason he had to go and bring Hulk Hogan.
He stated:
“Ric [Flair] comes back to WCW, and WCW still couldn’t make any money with him in ’93 and ’94, which is why I had to go out and get Hulk Hogan.”
Bischoff admitted Ric Flair is a great performer but when it comes to business, he feels the latter wasn’t a bankable star.
Both men share a long history of working side-by-side across promotions
When two notable personalities work in the same company, disagreements often happen. Likewise, both Eric Bischoff and Ric Flair have spent a lot of time working for the same promotion.
For the most part of the ’90s, both men were in WCW and have been a part of many historic moments. And in the early 2000s, they worked together in WWE. Now, who made who, will always be debatable and pro wrestling is a sport where such kinds of things often happen.
Nevertheless, both veterans are legends in their own way. Though many would argue Ric Flair was a star even before Eric Bischoff came into the picture. Well, now that both are in disagreement with each other, let’s see how this debate ends.
