John Cena and Randy Orton, are undoubtedly the two top names one would recall while talking about pro wrestling in the 21st century. During the 2000s and early 2010s, both men were on the top of the ladder in WWE. In fact, the two wrestling icons have journeyed together from the developmental territory to their glory days. Apart from being an excellent in-ring performer, The Cenation Leader also possesses a handsome personality. However, if you ask John Cena, he feels Randy Orton overshadows him in that aspect.
The 16-time WWE champion has been a poster boy for WWE for more than a decade. In fact, if you take a look at his peak years, there’s no WWE poster that didn’t feature Cena. Despite all of that, he keeps his former in-ring foe above him.
John Cena once called Randy Orton more handsome and also revealed the reason why
During a Q&A session on GQ a few years ago, the WWE Wrestler-Turned-Hollywood Star reacted and responded to a lot of personal questions asked by his fans. One of those fans asked who he believe is more handsome, John Cena or Randy Orton. Moreover, the fan wanted to know the reason behind Cena’s answer.
Well, without any hesitation, John Cena named his close friend and longtime in-ring rival Randy Orton more handsome. As a matter of fact, the 16-time WWE champion has a pretty solid explanation for his answer. Cena noted how Randy Orton has sleeve tattoos and has that bad boy thing in him. He stated:
“The answer is Randy Orton. I mean, he’s got the sleeve tattoos. And he’s like got that bad boy thing going on.” he said.
Despite both being on opposite sides of the ring, Cena and Orton share an off-screen relationship of mutual respect. While The Cenation Leader believes The Viper is more good-looking, the latter claims to have learned a lot from the former. In one of his past interviews, Randy Orton stated John Cena taught him how to be a master in the ring.
The two WWE icons carried the company on their shoulders for more than a decade
During the early 2000s, when megastars like The Rock and Steve Austin left, it was the likes of Cena and Orton, who carried WWE. The two men not only rose to fame, but they also went on to become the top names in the company. From Iron Man to I Quit to Hell in a Cell, John Cena and Randy Orton have delivered many memorable matches during their prime. Both icons made their debut in 2002 and, in fact, share a great friendship outside the ring.
Nevertheless, while Cena has shifted his focus to acting now, Orton still performs in the WWE ring. Though, he has been absent since May 2022 following his back issues. However, if The Viper recovers and John Cena is available, both men could appear at the upcoming Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
