Survivor Series WarGames 2022 saw the reinvention of Austin Theory’s character. The Triple-Threat-Match between Rollins (then Champion), Lashley, and Theory lived up to the hype after Theory emerged victorious. There was a lot of pressure on Theory in the lead-up to the match, especially after his embarrassing failure to cash in his Money in the Bank contract successfully. Survivor Series was redemption time for Theory and his victory was well deserved.

The youngest United States Champion had grown from taking selfies and talking trash to dominating the competition in the ring. When Austin Theory arrived in WWE, then-chairman Vince McMahon put stock into his hype. Everybody believed that he was the future but, they’d be wrong because Theory has proven that he is the now!

Austin Theory believes that he can defeat Roman Reigns

Now that Austin Theory has finally captured the United States Championship, he has bigger plans aside from defending his title. In an interview with CityNews Ottawa, Theory explained how he believes that he is the one who can defeat the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns

“Whoever is going to beat Roman Reigns it’s gotta be someone that is really going to beat Roman Reigns and not just by some luck and I think the chapter that Austin Theory is headed now, is setting him up to build to being that qualifier to stand toe to toe with Roman Reigns.”

Roman Reigns’ interminable reign as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion seems to be far from over as many top stars have tried dethroning the Head of the Table but have failed.

The way the trajectory of Theory’s career changed at WarGames, makes him very likely to pose a threat to Roman Reigns. According to reports, Reigns’ next potential opponent for WrestleMania 39 will be his real-life cousin The Rock.

It remains to be seen if The Rock will be able to do what nobody has been able to do for years. Until then, Theory will certainly keep close tabs on Roman Reigns.

Austin Theory recalls cutting a promo with John Cena for the first time

As a young boy, Austin Theory grew up watching and idolizing one of WWE’s biggest stars, John Cena. From the year 2004, John Cena’s career in WWE took off and never hit the brakes until recently when he fully transitioned into Hollywood.

Cena did the heavy lifting in the company for years, which explains why he is the most revered personality in WWE.

The leader of the Cenation remained the face of the company for many years. Later during the interview, Austin Theory expressed how special the moment was for him when he cut a promo with his childhood hero.

“That was a huge moment for me actually because that was the first time that I have done anything on screen with John and for it to be a promo was pretty special and not just a walk by. It was a confrontation and just getting to have that two minutes with him, it meant a lot to me,” he said.

Back in June, John Cena made a rare appearance on Monday Night Raw. Cena was back to celebrate his 20th anniversary with the company. Backstage, Theory got the chance to share the screen with Cena for a short promo.

Since then, there has been a lot of talk about Austin Theory being a returning John Cena’s next opponent at WrestleMania 39. Although not confirmed, we cannot rule out the possibility of seeing the duo face off at the grandest stage.
