Triple H World Heavyweight Championship

WWE is a well-oiled machine that has been running two weekly shows for more than two decades. Not just that, the company also has a third show [NXT] that serves as a developmental territory for young talents. Under the former WWE CEO Vince McMahon, talents from NXT used to get the main roster call-up every year. The whole thing either took place after WrestleMania or during the drafts. However, according to someone who has ample experience working behind the scenes in NXT, the system has improved under Triple H.

The Game has been widely appreciated for his work after taking over the duties of Mr. Mcmahon. Triple H not only has improved WWE’s flagship shows, but he has also brought back the good old days of NXT.

Road Dogg, who closely worked with The Game in NXT and is currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Live events, recently discussed the current main roster call-up system of WWE.

WWE has no strict streamlined process for main roster call-up under Triple H

During a recent episode of his “Oh… You Didn’t Know” podcast, the Hall of Famer detailed how NXT going to main roster has changed. Road Dogg stated under Triple H, WWE has no strict streamlined process when it comes to main roster call-up.

According to the veteran, NXT higher-ups get a fair warning before someone is needed on the main roster. Rogg noted that Triple H gives them time to write off a talent properly and in their own way. He believes that heads-up gives NXT management time to prepare creatively. Rogg stated:

“There’s not a strict streamlined process, especially now that Hunter [Triple H] is in charge of the creative. He understands much more about giving fair warning so you can write the person out… however you’re going to do it. It gives you time to prepare creatively for that…”

Talking about the past, the Hall of Famer revealed sometimes they sometimes received the heads-up and sometimes, they didn’t. He further added that at times, talents used to get call-ups when they were in the middle of something on NXT.

However, now that Triple H is in charge, the main roster call-up works a bit differently. Now, NXT talents get their deserving time to be written off storylines in a proper manner.

WWE rehired Road Dogg as soon as The Game took over the WWE Creative

When Triple H stepped away from NXT following his health scare, several people close to him got fired. In fact, people like William Regal fell prey to Mr. McMahon’s budget cuts. However, things have changed since Triple H became the new Head of WWE Creative.

Within a month, The Game started bringing back the core team he worked with back in NXT. Road Dogg, who was a vital part of Triple H’s NXT team, was rehired. The Hall of Famer was given the role of Senior Vice President to oversee WWE’s Live events.

Nevertheless, despite a few NXT names being reported, WWE has not given a single superstar a call-up to the main roster so far. However, considering Road Dogg’s statement, fans can expect that to happen in a better way now.
