Chyna WWE Death

The dawn of the Ruthless Aggression Era in WWE changed the trajectory of the Women’s division. Although there were up-and-coming talented divas like Trish Stratus, Debra, Jacqueline, and more in the Attitude Era, none had the clout and dominance quite like Chyna. The Ninth Wonder of the World was the only Woman in the old era to have competed in the Men’s Royal Rumble and King of the Ring. Due to her size and powerful presence, Chyna was a threat to the male talents, let alone females.

One of the most significant accomplishments of her wrestling career was when she defeated the British Bulldog and claimed the Intercontinental Championship. In addition, she was also a primary member of Degeneration X.

Despite having a great wrestling career, Chyna was released from the company in 2001 following a reported contract dispute. Sadly, her life took a turn for the worse after she succumbed to drug addiction. Sadly, in 2016, Chyna tragically passed away due to an accidental drug overdose.

Mick Foley responds to the Twitter campaign for Chyna to get a solo induction into the HOF

It’s no secret that Chyna was in a real-life relationship with Triple H during her stint in the company. However, their relationship ended when Triple H fell in love with his now-wife Stephanie McMahon. This major factor reportedly led to her exit from the company.

Following her exit, Chyna worked in the adult entertainment business. Although she was posthumously inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2019 as a member of DX, she was denied an individual induction.

While Triple H and Shawn Michaels have been vocal about pushing for Chyna’s separate induction into the HOF, her stint with the adult industry has seemingly disqualified her induction as a singles competitor.

Speaking on his podcast Foley is Pod, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley expressed his views on Chyna’s separate Hall of Fame Induction. According to him, Chyna’s recognition goes “beyond the Hall of Fame”.

The wrestling legend also heaped praise on Chyna for her contribution to the wrestling business and stated that she has already made it to the Hall of Fame. It’s important to note that Foley was responding to the current hashtag campaign on Twitter about securing Chyna a separate induction.

“Joanie is in the Hall of Fame,”

“She’s being acknowledged, she’s being talked about,” he said. “Her contributions have never been more recognized.”

Mick Foley recalls Chyna’s softer side backstage

While Chyna was recognized for her unflinching personality and domination in the men’s division, she hid a softer side of her’s from the screen.

According to Foley, although Chyna seemed incredibly strong, she had a gentle side backstage. The hardcore legend also recalled when his wife first interacted with Chyna backstage. Foley also pointed out that she had a great rapport with male talents in the locker room.

“We see her backstage, and there’s this like a paradox because this incredibly strong woman was so gentle backstage, so soft-spoken, that my wife was the first person that went up to her and said, ‘Oh, you were amazingly kind.” Said Foley.
